Losing Sight

A week ago my Brailliant Braille reader died. I was almost finished reading a book and it just went blank.

As a Deafblind person losing the one thing that opens the world to me, my heart dropped.

I contacted the vendor that I deal with in Québec and that night he discussed my options.

I could send in my Brailliant to see if it could be fixed or I could consider buying a new Braille reader.

My Brailliant is 6 years old. It’s taken quite a beating and used a lot.

So I opted to get a new one.

This one is going to be fabulous. It is similar to my old one I had years ago but now with so many more features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and so much more. I can write my notes on it, read my books, search the internet, flip between languages to read, connect to my phone with a touch of a button.

My new Mantis Q40

I’m excited to learn all the features. But for now I’m settling in for the night to read a book.
