Life with Bobby has been hectic. He’s growing so quickly and learning so many new things.
When he’s bored, he likes to drive Mummy crazy by stealing things and chewing on them. Another one of his favourite things to do when he’s bored is to steal paper and rip it up so Mummy can’t read it.
Standard Poodles like to learn new things and they are very active. Except during nap times, Bobby needs something to keep him busy.
Bobby is learning to walk very well beside my chair without pulling. He sits and waits for the elevator when we leave and sits in the elevator even when people get on or off.
He’s learning new skills such as stay, leave it and touch. He also knows kiss (not the slobber kisses he gives out voluntarily), which is his nose to my cheek. When I say “paw”, he touches his paw to my hand.
When I drop my glove on purpose, he picks it up and gives it to me.
He loves to play catch with his ball.
He’s lost most of his bottom baby teeth.
We’ve begun working with his trainer on a few puppy skills. His obedience training comes from me and he’s very good.
He knows what time I prepare his food for the following day and parks himself in the kitchen to remind me to make it.
His legs are getting longer and stronger so he’s able to go on longer walks.
This past Sunday, he went to church for the first time. I was surprised at how well he behaved. He just marched in and sat down. He was keenly interested in what the priest was doing and followed his every move with his eyes. He had a short nap near the end of the 2 hour long service.
He’s generally timid around people but during the Ladies Luncheon following church, while the men and boys were off to the bowling alley, he enjoyed showing off to all the ladies. Even though he was in his working harness, my church is my home away from home – we’re all family. So I happily let him visit with the ladies.
It’s hard to believe Bobby has only been with me for a month and a half and knew nothing when he arrived. He’s truly transforming into a Service Dog. I’m very proud of him.

Bobby still has expenses for training that need to be covered. I know we are all in a tough time financially. Every dollar helps Bobby learn to become a Service Dog.
Please consider sharing his GoFundMe with people you know. https://gofund.me/daa19891 Bobby is slowly giving me back my independence that I lost in October 2023, when Dayton, my Service Dog of 11 years, passed away.
