Inclusion in the Church – Part 16

The disabled community is one of the least who learn the Gospel. Depending on their location in the world, many are still “tucked away” from society. Disabled children often do not have the opportunity to attend school. Disabled adults are often a financial burden to their families, and they are deserted. In some developing countries, disabled people are treated much the same way as during Jesus’ earthly ministry, as outcasts of society. They are physically removed from inclusive society. Sadly, this is also the case in developed countries but rather than being physically removed from society, they are segregated due to barriers that prevent them from full participation.
