What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?
This year has had its ups and downs. But for the most part, I have to say it was a good year.
My second granddaughter was born this year. I’m filled with joy when I see my family. I’m so proud of my daughter and I adore my granddaughters.
After a decade of loss and pain, I celebrated my 50th birthday this year. I never imagined I would see my 50th birthday. Living with SJIA is not something we anticipate growing old with. Especially not people who are my age living with it. We didn’t have any medications growing up to help reduce or prevent additional health issues this disease brings with it.
My year has involved pain as I recently had to say goodbye to my sidekick of 11 years – my service dog Dayton. He gave me everything he could right up until the end when Addison’s Disease won and took his life.
I’m grateful to have a close friend in whom I can confide and grow with in my faith.
Life has a funny way of changing you so much. I’m grateful for all the blessings in my life.
I’m grateful for my faith and being able to grow closer to God each day as I walk along the Way.
